About the Icons
A Quarterly Red Cellar Trio Club Selection
A ‘trine’ is defined as a close group of three, and this wine pays homage to the families of Pepper Bridge: the McKibbens, the Murphys, and Pellets. It highlights the best of the estate vineyards and is a vintage-specific blend of Bordeaux’s traditional five red grapes. The 2017 bottling is a blend of 42% Cabernet Franc, 32% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Malbec, 9% Merlot and 3% Petit Verdot. Each lot was vinified separately and aged in French Oak, 41% New and 59% Neutral. Certified sustainable and Salmon Safe. 672 cases produced. Dense aromas of dark berries, bramble fruit and sweet oak. The palate delivers marionberry, dark plums and black tea with a note of caramel and a hint of cinnamon. Cellaring Recommendation: 5-7 years.

2017-C Lar de Sotomayor Vendimia Seleccionada Rioja, Spain (750ml)
About the Icons
A Monthly Wine Club Selection
This classic Rioja has a beautiful garnet robe and a deceptively subtle nose showing soft blackberry fruit, dusty earth and a hint of spice. The complex palate shows boysenberry, black cherry and red currant with a hint of cacao, firm tannins and a beautiful herbal note. A delightful wine, very well balanced, the acid supports a rather long, fruited finish.

Brick red. Classic aromas of crushed rock, fresh red berries and exotic spice. The palate exhibits rich fruit flavors of ripe red and black plums, bramble fruit and berry compote, with notes of cigar box and dusty earth. The palate is artfully balanced, with fresh acidity and a long and expressive finish. A prime example of when Riserva Chianti really starts drinking well, and starting to show the benefits of extended bottle ageing.

2019 Blacksmith C.L.R.T. Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley, California (750ml)
About the Icons
Blacksmith has, over multiple vintages now, been one of our most dependable suppliers of Napa Cabernet under $30, an increasingly rare commodity. It is usually more than 75% Cabernet, with the balance a mix of other Bordeaux varieties such as Merlot and Cabernet Franc in percentages that vary slightly from vintage to vintage. C.L.R.T. stands for claret, the old term that was historically used for red wines from Bordeaux.
